The City of Round Rock is accepting applications (PDF) to join the Sports Capital of Texas Ambassadors.
Ambassadors will be appointed by the Mayor to serve a two-year term. The mission of the Sports Capital of Texas Ambassadors is to engage the community in the “Sports Capital of Texas” brand and promote healthy living.
Penfold Theatre Company presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) in the Round Rock Amphitheater August 5-22.
In this free event, the whole family will enjoy watching three phenomenal actors as they compress the complete works of Shakespeare into 90 minutes of high-speed, over-the-top hilarity! Knowledge of Shakespeare's works is helpful, but not at all necessary. Bring a picnic blanket and come with us on a fast-paced romp as we celebrate (and abuse) the Bard's beloved cannon!
ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - The City of Round Rock has rescheduled the July 4th Independence Day Fireworks and Frontier Days Celebration to Friday, July 16, 2010 due to rain and park conditions. The fireworks will now be a part of Time Warner Cable’s “Movies in the Park” presentation of “Planet 51” at Lakeview Pavilion and “The Spy Next Door” at Virg Rabb Pavilion at Old Settlers Park. ROUND ROCK, TX –July 9, 2010– Woman’s full tackle football is headed back to Round Rock! The Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) will host their Championship games at the Round Rock ISD Athletic Complex. In 2009 Texas hosted its first World Championship and teams are excited to return to the Sports Capital of Texas. Woman have had the opportunity to play tackle football since 2000 when the IWFL was founded by a group of women dedicated to making the sport a household name.
ROUND ROCK, TX –July 9, 2010 – Get ready as the 2010 PONY National Softball Championship travels back to the Sports Capital of Texas! Athletes ages 8 to 18 will showcase their talents as they compete in their division for the national title. In 2006 and 2007 PONY Nationals was held in Round Rock but this year teams, coaches, and spectators are in for a treat. Old Settler’s Park has seen $18.2 million in the construction of 5 new softball fields and renovation to the existing 20 fields!
ROUND ROCK, TX –July 6, 2010 – The Texas State Cup 3v3 World Soccer Tour is making its way to the Sports Capital of Texas. The tour is combing highly skilled youth athletes with the challenge and precision of soccer. The 3v3 World Tour was developed as a national soccer platform for participants and players of all ages. The organization is devoted to creating premium events that will be guided by core values that include quality, integrity and innovation.
