CITY OF ROUND ROCK RESCHEDULES INDEPENDENCE DAY FIREWORKS AND FRONTIER DAYS ACTIVITES TO JULY 16 TO COINCIDE WITH TIME WARNER CABLE’S MOVIES IN THE PARK EVENT

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - The City of Round Rock has rescheduled the July 4th Independence Day Fireworks and Frontier Days Celebration to Friday, July 16, 2010 due to rain and park conditions. The fireworks will now be a part of Time Warner Cable’s “Movies in the Park” presentation of “Planet 51” at Lakeview Pavilion and “The Spy Next Door” at Virg Rabb Pavilion at Old Settlers Park. (Please see revised entertainment and activities schedule below).

The “Movies in the Park” event, fireworks and Frontier Days Celebration activates will take place at Old Settlers Park Lakeview Pavilion & the Virg Rabb Pavilion (3300 Palm Valley Blvd.). Guests may still watch the fireworks from anywhere within the park.

The festivities begin at 5:30 pm. Free watermelon will be served by the Round Rock City Council members and the Round Rock Parks & Recreation Department. Various vendors will offer food & refreshments, arts & crafts, kids games, pony rides and a variety of other delights. A pepper eating contest, a second Rubber Duck Race and Sam Bass Shootout will also take place. At 8:00 pm a skydiver will fly into the festivities. Fireworks will take place at dark with the Time Warner Cable “Movies in the Park” presentation of “Planet 51” and “The Spy Next Door” to follow.

6:30 p.m. Sertoma Rubber Duck Races on the lake at Old Settlers Park

7 p.m. Pepper Eating Contest presented by Randalls

7:20 p.m. FREE watermelon served by your City Council Members

7:30 p.m. Sam Bass Shootout presentation/LIVE stunt men spectacular

8 p.m. Skydiver jumps!

8:05 p.m. Skydiver lands. Boy Scout Troup 157 posting of colors and Pledge of Allegiance

8:30 p.m. LIVE patriotic music by the Austin Symphonic Band

9:05 p.m. FIREWORKS & Austin Symphonic Band presented by HEB

9:28 p.m. "Movies in the Park" presented by Time Warner Cable. Planet 51 at Lakeview Pavilion and The Spy Next
Door at Virg Rabb Pavilion
