Winter soccer tourney in Jan.

The 3v3 Live Winter Nationals soccer tournament will return to Round Rock for another year of competition in January.

Teams from all over the United States will qualify at local events for their ticket to this Winter Nationals. Ages 6 to 30 can participate and all teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games with the top three finishers in each division receiving a national trophy. Read more »

Firefighter Olympics to be held in Round Rock

The city of Round Rock has been chosen as the host city for the 2011 Texas Firefighter Olympics, Round Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau officials announced Dec. 23.

Convention bureau officials said cities from across Texas submitted written bids for the opportunity to host the upcoming state Firefighter Olympics. From those bids, cities were selected to give a presentation to the board.

Round Rock was officially designated the host city for the 2011 event after a presentation by Round Rock firefighter John Collins and a site visit. Read more »

CQ Press has released City Crime Rankings 2009-2010: Crime in Metropolitan America, and Round Rock ranks fourth among U.S. cities 100,000 population or greater.

Round Rock is No. 1 among the 31 Texas cities population 100,000 or greater included in the rankings. Read more »
