SportsEvents Magazine Names Round Rock CVB Director Nancy Yawn one of 2010’s Top Event Planners to Watch!

ROUND ROCK, TX – February 22, 2010 – Nominated by their industry peers, 50 outstanding sports event planners and places were recognized in the 2nd annual SportsEvents Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. SportsEvents Magazine is the only one of its kind, focusing on helping planners run successful sporting events across the nation. In the January issue, the magazine published the special feature, “50+ Planners & Places to Watch in 2010.” Three main criteria qualified planners for this recognition; a high level of professionalism, creativity, and excellence in hosting sporting events.

Round Rock CVB’s Director, Nancy Yawn, successfully represented the Sports Capital of Texas landing in the top 50 planners & places to watch. Those who nominated her said she “goes out of her way to ensure that each event is successful and inspires her team to have a good attitude, to be excited, and to treat each tournament as special as the next.”

Yawn accepted the award with enthusiasm saying “the greatest satisfaction in hosting sporting events is to be able to give athletes, their family and friends, and spectators the best event experience possible.” Yawn also expressed that partnerships are important. With her passion for sports events planning there is no surprise that she was recognized. Her efforts and national recognition are indicative that there is something great going on in Round Rock.
